History

ArcheryClock doesn’t supply Hardware. But makes use of 3rd party component suppliers. But it is expected that users can build their own timer using the Software and instructions for Hardware are freely available. Hardware can be very simple depending on the needs for an event.

PC + monitor only:

The most simple possible configuration is the use of a personal computer to run and controll the software. And a monitor in the archery range that shows countdown time and sequence (ABCD). Only additional hardware is a long display cable (VGA or HDMI) to bridge the distance from controling the PC and the location of the monitor in the archery range.

Pro's and Cons

+++ Simple to build.

+++ Cheap solution. (old computers and monitors are a lot available)

-- Hard to use alternating shooting. It is possible but both timers are shown on 1 screen.

-- Only indoor possible. (PC monitor not usable in bright sun light)

--- Only for small indoor archery ranges (since only 1 monitor used)

Usage:

small indoor archery ranges.

straightforward matches. (no alternating finals)

PC + multiple monitors via splitter:

Little addition to the PC + Monitor configuration. By usage of a video splitter (VGA or HDMI splitter) and extra monitors and (long) display cables. This makes it possible to use medium size archery ranges.
